The Dead Are Among Us Tour: A Paranormal Tour Only

History: Harshaw Chapel and Cemetery is a historic Methodist chapel and cemetery at Church and Central Streets in Murphy, North Carolina. The chapel was built by Joshua Harshaw, who was a prominent slaveholder. It was built in 1869 and added to the National Register in 1984.

Legend Has It: Abraham Lincoln's father, Abram Enloe is buried here. There is the original hanging tree still growing on the outskirt of the graveyard. During multiple investigations Legend Has It Tours has seen and recorded various personalities that reside in the graveyard area, in the structure, and randomly throughout the grounds. This is also the location of the "Dare Grave" and of the White Lady. Half height shadows and animal shadows are seen throughout the premise. Orbs are common, Elementals have been seen on occasion, and people have been touched.

Participants who dare take this tour are in for a wild ride. You will be teamed up with actual paranormal investigators that will teach you how to use the paranormal equipment for your investigation. You will use laser thermometers, ghost boxes, KII meters, Ovulius devices, Flir IR imaging equipment and more.

The Legend Has It Walking Tour: Downtown Murphy

The tour is a gentle, yet informative, one mile walk that all ages can do. During this tour, you will have the opportunity to hear our colorful history, catch a glimpse of our paranormal friends - if they decide to be seen - and use some of the latest paranormal equipment in person. Yes, this is the same equipment used on many of the popular paranormal shows.

During the walk, you will hear facts about the historical sites, some of which are on the national register for historical locations. Learn interesting, yet little known facts, about the Civil War in Murphy, the Trail of Tears, Abraham Lincoln's father and of course the legends behind them.

The walking shepherds (members of the Cherokee County Paranormal Society) will also entertain you with the ghost side of the legends. You will experience the visual and audible side of the paranormal if we are lucky to have some "invisible" guests with us. At Harshaw Chapel, there will be infrared cameras taking live video of other worldly events happening right before your eyes, laser thermometers that read ambient temperatures from 70 and 80 degrees drop rapidly to below 30 degrees and that's just the start.........

At Harshaw Chapel you will have the ability to refresh yourself on your journey.

Come here a little closer as I whisper, "you are guaranteed an entertaining and paranormal experience on this tour at one of two locations. "

During certain Town of Murphy events, this tour includes local actors portraying colorful and historical characters of the past.
